The proposed regulations of EU may lead to the banning of use of AI in some technical fields. With the increase of involvement of AI in technology and the average user not knowing much about how to protect themselves, the EU has decided to step in to this matter. The data leaked by the official publication of the EU promised new rules for the high-risk AI. The suggested list of AI include- AI designed to manipulate or predict human behavior, AI systems for indiscriminate surveillance, AI for general scoring. Some analysts have said these regulations are very vague and open to interpretations. They stated that there is no particular body which will assess these high-risk AI. Some analysts even proceeded to call these guidelines as “sloppy and dangerous”. They stated that AI companies can make alterations in their terms and conditions which will let them continue to use these technologies. The modifications suggested in these regulations include stricter parameters, monitoring system, being expanded to public sector as well. As AI is the base of operations for many companies, we can only ask for sensible alterations rather than complete banning, or the companies will keep exploiting the loopholes in the guidelines.
