After the recent widespread bitcoin giveaway scam, in July, in which the twitter accounts of US Presidential candidate Joe Biden, Tesla’s Elon Musk and many others were breached, on Thursday Twitter confirmed that the Twitter account of Prime Minister Narendra Modi's personal website known as the Prime Minister’s National Relief Fund (PMNRF) was hacked. The account( @narendramodi_in ) has about 2.5 million followers. The hacker(/s) released a series of tweets asking the followers to donate money to the fund using cryptocurrency. According to a Twitter spokeswoman, the matter is currently under investigation, and there is no information regarding the Prime Minister’s personal account, which has about 61 million followers, being hacked. The Prime Minister’s Office did not immediately confirm the news but the tweets have since been taken down. Also, no connection has been made linking this attack to the ones in July.
