The L3S Research Institute of Leibniz University of Hanover and secure email provider Tutanota have revealed that they are working together on a new research project called PQmail, which aims to implement quantum computer resistant cryptography in an upcoming email application. This application will be available for free. The PQmail project is supported by EU funding and Professor Sascha Fahl and his team at USEC along with the Tutanota team. Once completed, emails can be encrypted in such a way that quantum computers cannot decrypt them in the future.
