Airtel’s mobile app hit with security flaw which left millions of user data exposed

An security bug was discovered in the Airtel's mobile app that exposed sensitive data to all its users like personal details, subscription details, device compatibility for 4G, 3g and GPRS, network information, activation data, user type, and even IMEI number. The flaw was in the API of the Smartphone App where the user's sensitive data could be found. Airtel said it has now fixed the security flaw after the telco was notified by the BBC. There is no word on if or how many users were affected by the security flaw but it's alarming considering the large subscriber base of Airtel in India.
